This item was forged and produced by Tadayuki the first in Kanbun period (1661~), Edo era. Tadayuki was a brother as well as a pupil of Awataguchi Ouminokami Tadatsuna the first. This is a well made blade including good Ji, Hamon and Nakago. The item must be very attractive for the Suguha blade collectors. It seems the Koshirae with some excellent fittings was made in late Edo era. Especially, the authentic Fuchi-Kashira and Kojiri are so pretty. Both fittings have a same design with many traditional Yotsubishi crests by gold Nunome Zogan. Although the surface of beautiful red Saya looks bumpy, it is smooth because of a special technique in red lacquer painting.
